      Mentha x piperita 'Chocolate'

Mint is one of our favorite herbs because of its low maintenance, vigorous growth and diverse variety! This delicious culinary herb can best be described as Peppermint with chocolate overtones. Chocolate Mint is a fun alternative to the regular Peppermint and can be used for the same purposes.

Chocolate Mint, like all Mints, likes full to partial sun and moist soil. It works well when container planted with other culinary herbs, as it tends to have a creeping habit that cascades over the container's sides. Container planting will also help control the plant's eager growth, as Mint can often be difficult to remove from the garden once established.

Like other Mint varieties, Chocolate Mint has a soothing effect when taken in tea form and aides in digestion. Taking on qualities from the Peppermint side of its makeup, Chocolate Mint will also repel ants, aphids, cabbage flies and mice. Try growing this versatile herb around the foundation of your home, or sprinkling some in your pantries and closets to keep pests from invading your home. We are proud to offer chocolate mint plants for sale.
