    Nepeta cataria spp. citriodora 'Lemony'

Among the herb plants most desired by felines, this is Catnip with a twist for your herb gardening.

Dried or fresh, this herb plant will make any feline ecstatic! As an aromatic herb, this catnip has a wonderful lemon fragrance, and works as a great container plant. As with other types of Catnip, when inhaled it stimulates most cats, yet when digested it actually acts as a feline sedative.

    Lemon Catnip Repels Insects

Lemon Catnip is a great companion plant to any annual, herb or perennial as it is a natural insect repellent. It is known to deter aphids and several types of beetles from your garden, protecting neighboring plants. You can also rub the Lemon Catnip on your skin, releasing the natural oils, to help protect you from mosquitoes and other biting insects. Catnip is a potent natural pest repellent against mosquitoes, ants, cockroaches, termites, fleas and Japanese beetles, as well as mice, rats and weevils. The American Chemical Society found Catnip to be ten times more effective at repelling mosquitoes than the commercial chemical DEET, which is found in most brand name insect sprays.

As a medicinal herb, a cup of Lemon Catnip tea will make a great sleeping aid as well as help in digestion.

Lemon Catnip makes a great natural insect repellent and companion plant!

As potent at repelling unwanted insects and pests, its beautiful blooms are a magnet for attracting butterflies and honeybees. Also a beneficial companion plant when planted near gourds and beets, Catnip is a vigorous grower that will also do well in containers, or as a border plant, to keep your kitties on the outside of your garden.
