Herb Description:
Reseda odorata has greenish white with salmon stamens. Able to bloom from the start of summer until the first frost of winter. This species is widely grown for its flowers', that are delicate with a sweet of ambrosia fragrance with the slightest hint of raspberry for an essential oil.
Napoleon brought this seed back from Egypt for his Josephine. She was entranced and named it 'mignonette' or 'little darling.' A yellow dye is made from the plant, and essential oils are extracted from the abundant flowers to make a perfume.
