Gomphrena 'Purple', also known as "Globe Amaranth", is a summertime favorite due to its tolerance for heat and humidity. Great for edging and filling beds and patio containers because of its low, upright habit, these heat hardy little annuals are beautiful bloomers. The Gomphrena 'Purple' has clover-like flowering heads which produce beautiful violet blooms that are very attractive to bees and butterflies. We also grow red Gomphrena 'Strawberry Fields' if you are looking for a bright, ruby bloom!
Known for their long lasting blooms, these tough little blossoms stand the test of time well in dried arrangements. Even their name, Gomphrena, means "everlasting" in Latin. For best results, cut the flowers at the desired length of stem just before they bloom to ensure a longer and stronger dried blossom.
