Herb Growing Tips
Light: Full sun
Temperature: Herbaceous perennial hardy in Zones 3 to 8
Watering: Keeping the soil moist in the beginning stages but once Mugwort is well-establish it's drought-tolerant!
Soil: Mugwort does best in well drained soil, but is not picky about soil quality. It will do good in poor, sandy, soils
Comments: Mugwort's rhizomatous roots spread quickly, and their seed can disperse across a wide area. This is why it is classified as invasive in many US states. If you still want to grow mugwort, but have concerns, planting them in containers or in isolation is recommended. As always, please do research regarding any invasive species in your area!
Mugwort is a herbaceous perennial that has a strong, woody root system that will support it's height that can get pretty tall...we are talking 5 feet at maturity! The unique foliage is a dark, grayish-green tint but with the underside look almost silvery-grey because of the tiny white hairs that grow underneath. We are proud to offer mugwort plant for sale.
There are many reason to grow this herb from culinary to medicinal but it also works as a natural insect repellant.
