    • Rudbeckia Prairie Sun Plants for Sale

      Rudbeckia Hirta

Prairie Sun Rudbeckia plants have daisy-like blooms from midsummer until frost. The eye-catching green "cone" center of these tender perennials is ringed by bright yellow petals with sun-kissed, pale yellow tips. These vibrant bloomers are a great addition to cut-flower bouquets. Weather-resistant plants with sturdy, upright stems covered in coarse hairs.

Just like it's cousin, common Rudbeckia which features a brown or black, dome-shaped cone, Prairie Sun Rudbeckia is an excellent garden performer and the "backbone" of any cottage garden. It is a durable native prairie flower that provides a brilliant splash of color in mid-summer and a favorite of the butterflies. We also have Goldstrum Rudbeckia!

Also praised for its medicinal value, this Rudbeckia's roots are astringent and its medicinal abilities are very similar to that of its cousin, Echinacea. Because of its astringent properties, the plant was traditionally used to treat sores, swelling and as a poultice for snake bites.
    • A departure from the traditional 'Black Eyed Susan' with its green/yellow eye, 'Prairie Sun' shares all of the wonderful characteristics that make Rudbeckias one of my favorite annuals: tall and robust stems, well behaved, huge well-shaped flowers and a great flower in any arrangement!

      Does Not Grow Well Indoors!
