If you’re searching for a place that has exotic plants for sale, look no further. The Grower’s Garden is proud to offer a wide selection, including:

    Cardinal Flower (Lobelia Cardinalis)

This perennial plant is ideal for adding a splash of color to a yard or garden. During its blooming season, from summer to early fall, the cardinal flower plant blooms profusely and showcases the reason for its name. Its trumpet-shaped flowers are a showy red contrasting beautifully with its dark-green foliage.

Cardinal flowers thrive in hardiness zones three to nine and grow well in areas with morning sun and afternoon shade. They also need the following:

    *Frequent watering
    *Well-drained and moist soil
*A layer of mulch to protect the roots

    Huacatay (Tagetes Minuta)

This plant is native to the Peruvian Andes, and you can find it in use as a well-loved culinary herb in households across South America. Huacatay is also often called “black mint,” as well as “chinchilla,” “zuico” and “anisillo.”

This herb has a distinctive and pleasant aroma that is often described as a combination of anise, cilantro and mint with a hint of citrus. In the kitchen, huacatay is a crucial ingredient in Peruvian sauces, salsas and dips.

Huacatay is an annual plant. It has dark green spiky leaves and, in its blooming season, tiny pale-yellow flowers. It is drought-tolerant and a fast grower. It is also effortless to grow, making it ideal for beginner gardeners. For huacatay to thrive, it needs:

    *Full sun to partial shade
*Half an inch of water per week
    *Well-drained soil

    Rue (Ruta Graveolens)

This evergreen plant has feathery green foliage and produces tiny yellow flowers during its blooming season, in midsummer. Its leaves produce a potent, bitter aroma, primarily when crushed.

Rue is ideal as both an ornamental plant and a garden companion. Its strong scent acts as an insect repellant, helping keep pests like aphids, slugs, snails and flea beetles away from your garden. At the same time, it attracts beneficial insects—It is the host plant for Black Swallowtail, Giant Swallowtail and Anise Swallowtail butterflies.

To ensure your rue plant thrives, follow these tips:

    *Plant in full sun
*Do not overwater – water only when the soil is dry to the touch
    *Use well-draining soil
